![]() The trail is dangerous to sum it up, but if you are looking for adventure, THIS IS A MUST! It's a help for you and for them as well. Snakes, monkeys, slippery rocks, and some cliffs are waiting for you there, so be sure to have a guide. The park would never let you enter any of its parts without a guide but if you did managed to slip and enter, the staff won't be reliable on anything that might happen to you. One thing commendable I noticed was the tour guides were quite firm in instilling discipline to visitors on the "clean as you go policy". Since we have an elder waiting for us outside and we came in a bit late in the morning, we decided to cut-short the visit, hence we were not able to explore the other areas. It is said in the history that it was once the headquarters of President Aguinaldo. Our tour guide also recommended to visit the Aguinaldo cave, which was a few minutes trek as well. Maybe because of the many people, the river was not quite inviting. It would entail to cross the hanging bridge or if not, walk through some rock formation and a bit through a body of water.Īnyways, we went there last Black Saturday and as expected, there was quite a crowd, mostly swimming in the river. One of our elder companions opted to just stay at the entrance and wait for us because he would have difficulty going around or just going to our rented cottage. Having a tour guide for those visiting this park is mandatory.Ī bit of a warning, this place is not senior citizen-friendly. Entrance fee is minimal (I think P40 or 50 per pax) but the tour guide fee is about P200 or 300 (sorry not really sure since I was not the one who paid for lit, lolz). Literally, one has to trek to be able to see and appreciate the scenery of this national park. There are still many caves to explore and many falls and rivers to visit,so that would be my task once my kubo cafe is operational,I hope you find time to visit too. Luckily,I have witnessed it 3 times already whenever I visit our small lot farm in Biak na Bato. The duration may vary depending on the age probably, but usually it will not take 6 hours the most. There are some eateries and carenderias in the place but not enough to provide for the bulk and influx of tourist.Īt most instance, locals witnesses daily the migration of thousands of fruit bats from the cave inside just before dark as they flew in drones going to Pampanga to eat and would normally return in the early morning. Individual or Group should register first before given a tour guide. To enter the park, strict observation of health protocol is still a must paricularly the visitors. Nowadays, San Miguel has low or even no reported Covid cases making it an alternative biking destination and eco-adventure destination for the city dwellers, making other nearby places such as Dona Remedios Tinidad as crowd drawer because of their falls and IG worthy photo spots overlooking mountain ranges. Inside are systems of rivers and trails of both historical and ecological importance as pre historic relucs were also found in the area.Pre Pandemic, the licals says tourist coyld go as high as thousand every weekend for it is only 80 km from Manila. It was declared a National park by then President Manuel Quezon. It consists of a cave network totalling to around 116 but only about 12 caves are open to tourist. ![]() The park also extends to the nearby munuciplalities of San Ildefonso and Dona Remedios Trinidad covering a total area of 2,117 hectares. ![]() It is said to be the home of at least six species of winged mammals like: kabag-kabag, ngusong kabayo, bungisngis, sibsib, bayakan and pakibu.Biak-na-Bato National Park is an important historical tourist destination located almost entirely within Brgy Biak-na-Bato in San Miguel,Bulacan from where it derives its name. Then beside the cave is the free-flowing cold water coming from the cracks of the rocks, inside the cave. Inside this cave is an open space that stretches 30 meters up forming a colorful, gorgeous and spacious dome. When I captured this photo, I was standing almost 400 meters away from the mouth, but I was still smelling the bats poops.īoulders are really huge. The trees and plants created their own arcs by the mouth of the opening. Look at the photo above, that’s what the cave opening looks like. The opening is really enormous and surrounded by huge boulders. ![]() This area is comparable to a jungle but in an organized way. This part of the National Park is not easy to penetrate due to some sharp and slippery boulders, on the trail. The Bahay Paniki Cave ( House of Bats) is located 300 meters south of the Aguinaldo Cave, in Biak na Bato Historical Shrine. ![]()
